After learning 3 weeks of Live sound intensive it’s finally come to an end. Throughout this intensive since live sound is new to me I did a lot of practice in my free time come down to Sound Stage setting up PAs and monitors, practice it again and again. Since I understand that live sound need to work more careful that’s what I care about it. I don’t want to get blown any PA or end up damaging any device. But on the other side one of my bad habit that always want to speed things up and do everything quickly without thinking. So I’m trying my best to balance and it’s going well but need to improve a lot. On the last day of intensive we tried to prepare all the presets, stage and get ready for the event coming up Hey Mammoth with Hannah Glass.

My main job is to work as FOH on the day and I also have to prepared the visual to play in the background on the event day. Around 5 pm I come into the sound stage start testing PA with pink noise. Then load up the file we are going to use on the console and give a run test with protools to check everything sounds going well. So i left stage for a few minutes go out and have a fresh air then come back when the artist arrive. The artist just arrive on time so we just run a quick sound check with them then get ready and start the show.

Since I’m more of a person who doesn’t talk much and just work my part with the best lately there’s a bit of lack of communication. But from my perspective point of view if everyone doing their job well the result will be pretty good and I think the event turned out really well in end. We have enough people those come and see the show, free pizzas and also the artist looks happy with all our preparation and setups. Everyone planned out really well with what they have to do and all are great plans and turned out really well.

There’s a bit of mistake throughout the process on my side especially I need to think more faster and then response. But those are good mistakes to learn so I’m not gonna have to repeat same mistake again in the future. It was all great experience and I also know there are a lot to learn more in the future. Working with team is also different from working only because everyone have different opinion and different way they approach for their goals. So I always try myself to be flexible and try my best to done my part.
