In the beginning of Music Production intensive for trimester 4 it got me a bit confused. The part that got me confuse was we need to work on one track in a group off people that come with different taste and different kind of backgrounds. So on the first day when my teacher asked me to show reference I can’t come up at the time when my teacher asked. Because I’m still confusing with the part that how are we going to work with people different tastes and styles. But at the end of the day I was discussing with other members and found out what we want to do depend on what we can do. But our final results changed a bit it’s not come out at what we said in week 1. But what I learned about in this intensive is how to work with other peoples and how should I contribute as much as I can while working as a group. I had experience working in a group but not in the situation like this. Working as a group for producing a track with people who had different kind of taste that’s new because most of the people want to do what they like so we have to balance it. And out final product also prove that it is a balance product of organic and electronic fusion. Another thing I learned during week 3 is about recording drums and snare with midi trigger. We put two sensor on the skin and recorded as midi data into our DAW for drum and snare. After that we try to put that MIDI data in Kontakt and use the drum samples. It was really hard to give human touch for those MIDI notes we got. Bec we have to clean lots of ghost notes and adjust the velocity of midis and remove the unnecessary. Me and Majid do it together since Majid do the drumming but it gave lot of new experiences for both of us. I’m sure it will be also useful for me in the future if I want to do something fusion between acoustic and electronic drum. Then we transferred those file to Nic for further processing with percussion, snare rolls and etc. So there are lot of transferable skills I learn during this short period and I just mentioned the one that I think which will really useful for me in the future.
