For this remix one of the biggest challenge for me is to adapt 110 song on the remix I want to do as 140 BPM Uplifting Trance track. So I just put the original breakdown part as 110 BPM on the track and use automation to 140 BPM. So I come up with the new melody for the track. From the original track I used back the bird voices, waves and guitar recorded by the band. For this track I use two different bassline one for 140 uplifting and one for 110 slow drop. That 110 BPM slow drop is inspire me from Giuseppe Ottaviani Slow Emotion track as I mentioned in earlier blog. From 110 to 140 BPM I use cutoff automations to change the song from guitar to main lead synth. For that I use Spire VST for main lead synths and blend it with guitar and get back into 140 BPM Uplifting Trance style. I do some automation cutoff when the main synths come in. For this track I research online for how to make uplifting Trance and watch tutorials from artists such as James Dymond and Driftmoon. I got some points from there how to get a good sound and what are the requirements to make track like they did. I also tried to get some idea from the original band since one of the band member is my friend.
Here is the feedback from artist for the remix
For that, "I really appreciate the fact that when you want to remix the song which is still in quality of demo. To give a friendly honest feedback, I feel vagueness in quality of sound when it's coming to mixing such that a high mid frequency are clashing into my ears. It can be fixed and it doesn't really matter since it is production value because I focus on song arrangement more. In arrangement, I like the idea of raising the tempo of guitar tapping we put in the song as the main coordination of raising the intensity of the song and it would be really good if you fix some part of instrument arrangement to express the original song in a little more rhythmic conjunction between high end and low end."
