MaRlo & Piotr The Story Of Magical (EMP Week 3 AUD210)

This time I want to talk about a track named Magical made by Electronic Music Producer called MaRLo and classical musician Piotr. MaRLo is a dutch born and raised in Australia. He got his inspirations from big electronic musicians such as Mauro Picotto, Aphex Twin, Armin Van Buuren and The Prodigy. He always defined his music as MaRLo sound that come from the influences of Trance, Tech-Trance, Hard Trance and Big Room to form his own sound. In 2016 MaRLo produced so many new singles those were signed and released on Armada music’s A State Of Trance label. MaRLo become one of the standout artists on the powerful Armada label with hit after hit, which have gained him a cult like following. The success of his releases combined with the energy MaRLo brings to every performance, have seen him become one of the most highly anticipated acts at events around the world. Piotr was born in Poland and got his master degree in music composition at the University of Melbourne. He creates contemporary concert music, fusion of contemporary styles, and music for games, theatre and film.

For this track Magical it was approached to MaRLo by The Australian Music Centre & APRA to work on a collaboration with traditional and classical music. MaRLo chooses Piotr to work together. Piotr come up with the sound recorded from Kashgar violin. MaRLo put effects such as delays and layering different synths to sound like tech Trance. And for the buildup to breakdown MaRLo cuts the sound into Triplets and the drop came in. So for this track magical looks really interested since it’s a collaboration between electronic music and organic artist, it is some new and creative track.
